Tri-County Marcomm News

Feb. 2010 – The South Florida Public Relations Network (SFPRN) is pleased to welcome new and renewing sponsors for 2010. Founded in 2006 by local PR pro and adjunct marketing professor, Linda Hamburger reports that SFPRN presently has 730 members and 7 corporate sponsors that include BusinessWire; Marketwire; O’Dwyer’s’; Gebbie Press; Galindo Publiciad; PR News; and Partyline. These professional service providers enable PR pros to get their jobs done, offering press release distribution, media leads, national industry news and more.

"SFPRN attracts interest because of its unique niche in providing a local news source for our tri-county public relations and marketing communications professionals,” said SFPRN founder Linda Hamburger. “SFPRN serves much like an umbrella, one-stop-stop, for a regional professional market, providing a focused South Florida industry resource and an open forum for Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County professionals to collaborate and have shared discussion.”

SFPRN supports and encourages attention for South Florida’s various other professional associations, that include, but not limited to, PRSA; AMA; AdFed; WIC, and does not replace them. Rather, SFPRN offers a web site and daily e-mailed digest that covers the tri-county area for meeting announcements, new hires and employee moves, job openings, a bulletin board that is open to others for posts, and more. Occasional networking events are “meet and greet receptions.”

“Membership remains free, thanks to sponsor support,” said Hamburger. “Our e-mail based digest, offers an affordable and accessible option for people who are either cash-strapped or too busy to regularly take advantage of face-to-face networking."
