March 2008 -- Lawrence of
Florida Entertainment & Events
certainly knows how to “break in” a
new office location…with a party, of
course. To showcase its new Coral
Springs location, the events company
hosted its own on-site event on
Thursday, February 28, at 6 p.m.
that also served to raise funds and
awareness for the South Florida
Public Relations Network (SFPRN), a
community service organization
founded by So. Flo. publicist Linda
Hamburger, owner of On Call PR. Over
50 event planners and publicists
from throughout Dade, Broward and
Palm Beach Counties dropped in for a
terrific two-hour, event packed
showcase.
Highlights of the social included
one-on-one encounters with a number
of exotic animals courtesy of
EnvironMental Connections /
Safari Party. Some guests
even posed for an unusual photo-op,
with a rare albino Boa Constrictor.
Other creatures greeting folks at
the door included a pair of cozy
chinchillas (comfortable on a rare,
but chilly,
Florida
evening); a porcupine; a very
well-fed-looking African bullfrog;
sloth; Kinkajou; and a cuddly
Wallaby. If the creatures didn’t
catch one’s eye, the signage
certainly did —
MODIAD Corporation
helped people find their way to the
location with an outdoor,
hummer-mounted, lighted, revolving
sign that made its own unique
impression.
Equally popular was Natasha
Lipshtick & The Psychic Yentas.
There was a long line, but everyone
got a free reading that included lip
analysis. Guests had to "pucker up"
for this reading! You kiss a piece
of paper and Natasha reads the lip
lines, much like palmistry, only, er,
different; she also offered
signature analysis and more.
Natasha’s readings were so accurate,
hard-core skeptics were becoming
true believers.
Chocolates by Design
provided tantalizing bite size
treats. Contemporary
Caterers of Delray Beach
provided a well-rounded table of
assorted dips and bites that assured
for steady traffic past the food
trays.
Also on hand, Air Heads
Oxygen Bar, featuring a
myriad of scents that re-invigorated
and energized guests; Blackjack
gaming; a cigarette girl (serving
treats, not smokes); and,
cartoonist Marty Lowe came
as a guest only to offer free
caricatures to anyone who asked!
Marty read about the event in the
Sun
Sentinel, came by to
visit, and wouldn't you know... was
put to work in true PR fashion.
There were prizes as well. Blackjack
winners played for teddy bears, not
cash, and Biscayne Tennis of
North Miami Beach
donated a Dunlop tennis racket
valued at $150.00 as a door prize.
A few faces in the crowd included:
Past lead sports anchor of Madison
Square Gardens Network, and current
author/freelancer Bob Page;

News Director Rosalind
Sedacca; Bocaraton.com
